The Shire of Glenn Linn is a local chapter of the Society of Creative Anachronism. Established in the town of Glenns Falls at the end of 1988, the Shire is comprised of Warren and Washington Counties and parts of Saratoga, Essex, and Hamilton counties including such communities as Glens Falls, Queensbury, Lake George, Hudson Falls, Fort Edward, South Glens Falls, Wilton, Corinth, Hadley, Lake Luzerne, Warrensburg, North Creek, Indian Lake, Ticonderoga, Fort Ann, Granville, Whitehall, Argyle, and Greenwich. In total, the Shire covers over 60 zip codes in North Eastern New York.

Those who participate in the Shire work to re-create the best aspects of pre-17th-century history through a wide variety of "hands on" activities such as costuming, music, dancing, cooking, weaving, metal working, spinning, dyeing, embroidery, calligraphy, illumination, armored combat, rapier combat and archery, to name a few.

Members research and adopt medieval-style names that reflect the culture and time period of their chosen persona and participate in as many or as few medieval crafts, arts, and sciences, martial and social activities as they wish. Dressed in historically accurate clothing, they attend events which feature tournaments, performances, feasting, royal courts, arts displays, activities for children, various classes, workshops, and just about anything having to do with the pre-17th-century world that our members can think to do or recreate!

We have local activities running almost every week in the Glens Falls area. Please check the Shire Calendar for a list of scheduled activities. There is a Glenn Linn Yahoo! group you can join (requires moderator approval) and we also have a presence on social media via the Shire of Glenn Linn Facebook page (requires facebook account and moderator approval to join). Feel free to join us on either or both of these sites.
